How to join our Regiment

Our reenactment group is happy to include men, women, and children from all walks of life, from California to Northeastern Canada , both English and French speaking.

We recreate a variety of historically correct impressions which were present within the 3me régiment d'infanterie de ligne in 1810.The choice of impressions is left up to the member.

What unites us is a strong, passionate wish to learn through research and actions, the hard life of those brave followers of the Emperor Napoleon 1er.Military tactics, history ,drill, camp life, singing, and meals , are but a few of the aspects of what we wish to experience and present to the public.

We pay a special attention to all aspects of military and civilian dress. We insist on the most accurate portrayals possible.

Joining our group is quite simple. The main requirement is the will to do a top quality impression. We expect new members to equipe themselves gradually within a few years.

Napoleonic reenacting is somewhat different from other periods since the dress and equipment of the troops includes much detail and unique components.
We offer new members all the information and assistance necessary for acquiring their equipment. We help new members establish a sequence of clothing and equipment priorities best suited to their personal financial situation. Some new members wish to get all their kit together in the first year where as others wish to do so over two or three years.

Annual dues are quite inexpensive, between $20 and $30.These dues cover the Brigade insurance costs as well as those related to our website.

The greatest investment on the part of a new member is the purchase of a period correct musket. The fusil 1777 modifié AN IX is required for grenadier ,voltigeur and fusilier impression. The fusil de dragon 1777 modifié AN IX is also used for voltigeur impressions. Our group may permit the use of certain non-French or older generation muskets if they fall under certain guidelines. The British Brown Bess India pattern, the Prussian 1809, or the French 1777 muskets are a few which are acceptable.
